    24-105 unsharp

    Hi,

I have a 24-105 and noticed that a lot of shots are unsharp. At first I thought it was me (shaky hands) but when I do it tripod style it stays slightly out of focus. I was used to it and just sharpened images until I saw what sharpness the same lens (other copy) delivered.

Should I take it back? Warranty expires next month...

I suspect front- or back focus problems. I *could* try and mico adjust in-camera but I just want the lens to do its job.

    Anybody else experience 24-105 unsharpness?

You can send it to Canon for calibration, that should fix the problem.

my case has been just the opposite.. i'd classify my 24-105 as "super-sharp".. send it back. get a new copy! you neeed this lens.

    Mine too, is very sharp.

My only complaint is CA when shooting on the wider side. The outer <1/4 of the frame get hit hard.

If I'm shooting something that wide that is detrimental I pull out the 24 1.4L
