    tamron 10-17 question

does anyone know if the tamron 10-17 will work on the 5dmkII? I know is not a full frame lens but other than giving me black corners from 10 to 12mm is there anything else? I fear that the mirror will get stuck in the rear element of the lens or it will break.please advise

    thank you

Does Tamron make a 10-17mm lens? I can't find one from them. There's a Tokina 10-17mm fisheye, and a Tamron 10-24mm. If you mean the Tokina, reportedly it will mount and work fine on a FF body. You'll get vignetting, of course, some from the smaller image circle, and some from the built-in hood. There's even a service that offers to 'shave off' the 10-17mm's hood to reduce the vignetting on FF (and their website shows images taken with the Tokina 10-17mm on a 5D).
