    Phone or SLR?

I didn't do as well as I thought I would on this little pop quiz! I quess there are phones out there that are a heck of a lot better than my 'droid! I can see a P&S being hard to tell the difference to some extent under some circumstances...but a phone!

The photos looked like they were highly edited to make the quiz harder.

I got 7 out of 10 but only by guess work. You can take good pictures with a phone and you can take lousy ones with an SLR.

There seemed to be a fair amount of noise in some of the phone ones, and the ones with narrow DOF were giveaways. Of course, sometimes it was hard to tell if the background was blurred due to narrow DOF or just poor optics

Fancy cameras let you take pictures in situations the phone can

That is pretty much what I based most of my answers on ...if there was a lot of noise, it was a phone. But on a few, I underestimated the quality of a phone shot.

I got 7 of 10 mostly based on DOF and a little on noise. I was recently looking at some shots a friend had taken with the iPhone 4. Pretty impressive....for a phone. Actually, I am looking forward to see the quality of the camera on the iPhone 5. But I am not selling my 7D anytime soon. Try tracking an eagle with an iPhone.........

Haha it went easy the first half, after that...not so much. 7/1

PS: last friday at the airshow, someone was using his IPad to film the entire thing. It looked absolutely ridiculous(probably just like my bazooka), but now knowing this he probably shot some good footage Hard to tell apart from a real videocamera.

meh, 6 of 10. I like how they purposefully took a close macro with blurred background with a phone, and a high-noise shot with an slr to confuse us...

Not sure if anyone else has seen this ad campaign, from what I hear it
