    Re: Assignment 25 - Color!

Here are three where color is a main element, from the hues of the plant kingdom to the golden glow of sunrise. The <span style="text-decoration: line-through;"]firstsecond will be my entry, based on initial polls... (and thanks, all!)

Great shots everyone. Neuro, I really like your control of DOF in these shots. Comp in the first one is superb IMO.

    Re: Assignment 25 - Color!

An assignment themed "color" this time of year fits perfectly - when I look around outside the colors of nature are really beautiful. My original idea was to find an autumn leaf against clear sky to get a red, green and blue composition (maybe it's a bad sign when RGB is the first that pops up in your head when you think of color). Last week I took a walk with my camera near my house but didn't really find any fitting leaf. Most leaves were either yellow or green - I wanted a red and green one. Some maples had these leaves but they couldn't be isolated to a blue sky background. (Who is this weird guy running around aiming his camera to the tree tops?) After a while the sun set and I gave up looking for leaves. Instead I was hooked by a spectacular show that took place over the sea - the post sunset colors of the sky shifted in various hues of pink/purple and of course I made sure to capture some photos. Actually I like this first one quite a lot and it will be my entry in this assignment.

(Still, I had the idea of the red and green leaf, and this Saturday I found one that was pretty much what I had in mind. The result is also similar to the picture I had in mind but I like the first one better. However, this is what my entry could have looked like.)

    Neuro,

I third the vote for the second shot. It caught my eye immediately.
