I did find the require email for verification option and enabled that as well. I'm open to other suggestions on how to control the spam.

Bryan - I use vBulletin too and I finally added question answer verification. Something simple usually does the trick at least for Bots. Give it a try if you like.

Bryan it is. In the Admin Control Panel select Settings->Human Verification Manager. Then chose •Question & Answer Verification and Save. Then you should be able to add questions and answers in the frame below.

Thanks Paul - I'll give that idea some consideration.
One caveat is you have to provide "every" possible answer unless you use the "match regular expression" option. This requires a little more "know how". I feel simple questions do the trick of fooling the bots fine.

OK - The spam is getting crazy. I changed the human verification to Q&A. We'll soon find out if it is effective, I'm sure.
Is anyone having trouble sending and/or receiving PMs? I have one such problem report - receiving is the problem for this person.
