Hi, usually I prefer to submit new photos to the assignments (taken particularly for the assignment), but this time I have one in the archive that I think fits the assignment too well to be overlooked:
During a holiday trip last summer I was just walking around for some street photography when this man suddenly walked up to me and asked me to take a photo of him. This was the first (and so far only) time an adult stranger asked me to take a photo, and of course I did. I showed him the result on the LCD and he just did a thumbs up sign and left without a word (so I suppose he liked it). Maybe he disappointedly looked for his portrait in the local newspapers afterwards, but until now it has never been seen anywhere else than on my monitor.
I got the impression he was a friendly and happy dude, but most of all I think he has a very characteristic look that may not be categorized as beautiful, but still sort of photogenic.
Here is my entry. This is from my film days when I lived in Okinawa Japan. I loved to walk the streets and take photos of people. This little girl was scared of me and climbed on top a car. I shot this with my Yashica Matt 124G on Kodak Verichrome Pan 120, printed it on Ilford paper, bleached it, then died it with sepia the old fashioned way. My crummy scanner does not do this justice at all
