Oh wow
Thanks for submitting all of your photos, but it's now time to take the next step. So this is the end of the entry-period.
Photos submitted after this message unfortunately will not be judged.
I will notify Nick to make his selections and hopefully we've got a poll running soon. Thanks all!
The eye is great! How did you do that? Is it as simple as over-exposing a lot?
Cheers,
S
Thank you.
That was shot with a 100 mm Macro and a 580 II flash with an Omni-Bounce attached to it (unfortunately, that is the not so attractive reflection). I also used an LED flash light that I would shine in her eye to get the pupil to close up (that's the small reflection in the pupil).
As for PP... that was done in Lightroom 3, and
It took a little while, but I was having fun trying something different.
- I used the brush over the eye to bump up the clarity, sharpness, saturation, and vibrance of the iris. Then the iris was left alone, and everything else below was applied to the rest of the frame in varying degrees.
- unsaturated the red a lot and reduced the sharpness & clarity a lot over the eye whites (multiple times). I needed to get rid of the viens.
- desaturated, reduced clarity, reduced contrast, reduced sharpening, and increased exposure with the brush. This was done to varying degrees to different areas, and some areas had modifications stacked on top of each other until I got it the way I wanted.
