I know you posted your photos a week ago but wow pretty impressive. I like Cassidy0686 the best your use of lighting was very impressive. Youthfull flawless skin is fantastic to work with, well done mate.

devsalvi: If I might suggest something--the shot would have been better if you had lit your father's eyes. Next time,place the mainlight a little lower so that the light isn't blocked by the subject's brow ridge. People wearing glasses can be tricky to light, but if you play around with the angles you can make it work quite nicely.
The eyes are what draw us into a traditional portrait--and having well-lit eyes (with catchlights) helps a great deal.

For this shot i had the 580exii on the camera with a bounce on it and pointing directly upwards. And you are right, it gets tricky when glasses are involved.
I really appreciate your suggestions. Will give them a shot next time.
