    Thanks All, I appreciate it. It's funny though. I have $20K invested in dslr and associated equipment and I finally win my first contest with a shot I took 30 years ago with an old Canon AE1 film body and 50mm kit lens.

    Hey, the one before my shot was taken with a 40-year old East German lens that cost me $50 on ebay, on a $100 adapter.
    And my first shot that got turned into a book cover was with a niftyfifty one night at a pub.

    I think the lesson more is that *you* make the shot, not the equipment (that said, the equipment helps, but it's not going to stop me buying/lusting after more and better equipment...)
    An awful lot of electrons were terribly inconvenienced in the making of this post.
