NOW VOTING: Images of the Month #1

This is the thread where the winning portrait and landscape images from each week will be posted each month.

At the end of the month there will be 8 images to vote on to select the best 2 images for the month.

Thank you for all the submissions. I have selected the first 2 winning images, please feel free to comment at will.

New images for week #2 can be posted in that thread.

Winning portrait image was this one by Sean. It just is very hard to look away from. It makes me want to know more about this fellow. Why are his eyes so red? Why did he wander into Sean's yard? Has Sean installed more security?

Landscape image of the week is this effort from Erno. Has to be one of the best images I have seen. What does Heaven look like? Just superb.

I would also like to mention the images from Pat, bgood, Pierre and Joel's Pileated Woodpecker were also standouts for me.

Now on to next weeks images, I hope the views and entries keep generating interest for this site and as a bonus we will end up with another portfolio of beautiful shots.

BTW, I elected myself as the first Weekly judge just to get this thing started, gladly let someone else, or maybe one of the winners of Week#1 might volunteer to judge Week#2. That way we can have a cross section of views entered for the monthly judging where as a Community we can vote on the final 2 monthly winners each month.
Hopefully we can keep this as a fun assignment, with lots of entries and interest created.
