Great shot Steve! I saw that one on your Flickr photostream and thought you did a good job capturing yourself.

Portrait (couldn't decide between the two):

This shot is just 8 hours old.... a pair of Perseids from last night's show. I was up for two hours, with the camera shooting continuously, before snagging this great reward. I was trying different settings through the night, starting with 30 seconds at ISO 400, then 15 seconds at ISO 1600, and finally 8 seconds at ISO 3200 (which is this shot). Of course the higher the ISO, the brighter the meteors will appear. I used my spiffy new 24 mm f/1.4 prime, wide open. This view is just a half mile from my front door, by the way.... I do like living here!

@Jonathan: That's a really cool shot of the Perseids. I had some plans myself to try to get a shot of them, but yesterday night was all overcast/rainy. Thanks for sharing!

    Very cute!!

I can imagine both parents standing just out of the frame ready to jump if the baby moves Or, at least, that's what I would do...

Edit: About Sean's 2nd picture (and 1st too)

You're exactly right! The baby's mother and father were just out of the frame on both sides with their hands up just in case. :-)

Steve, you're cute, but the Coffee Girl is a tad cuter. You know my thoughts on your self portrait already; one of your best!

Jon, you nailed the Perseids! Great work. Does Canmore stand for "CANnon can do MORE?"
