    Landscape - Rime

Rime is the moisture that attaches itself to the snowflake as it falls to the ground. The snowflake isn't actually melting in this picture. Sorry for all of the snowflake shots, just all I have this time of year.

Please do not be sorry, and do not stop posting. I love your snowflakes... I have not been able to get a decent one in the past. What is holding the flake? Is that a glove or mitten?

Thanks Pat! The snowflake is on a Christmas stocking. The glove I used had too many loose threads and the glass was too reflective. I'm thinking of something different for tomorrow. We are suppose to get an inch of snow so plenty of chances.

Happy new year everybody! The last couple of months of 2013 I spent nearly all my spare time working on our house. (Some new windows, some new wallpapers and a new entrance door plus all the related stuff.) That meant little time for photography, but I count on some improvement from now on. I thought this one from yesterday could be suitable for the week 1 landscape category:

I got a new softbox for Christmas. Tried it out today on my 8 year old granddaughter.
