Tips on hanging a vinyl backdrop?

I have a crappy backdrop stand that the legs, tighteners and thickness of poles get in the way. I can't get the backdrop to look flush it always wrinkles. What do you guys do to hang yours?

Here's what I use for backdrops:

Matthews Maxi Kit Steel Stands (2)
    LumoPro 12' Background Crossbar
CowboyStudio 6 x 9 Feet Seamless White Vinyl Background
BESSEY 2-in Steel Spring Clamps (2)

The sectional crossbar is great because I can choose what length I need (I generally only use 3 of the 4 sections). The light stands are very sturdy and exceptionally well-made. The vinyl backdrop doesn't wrinkle like fabric. I've had it since late 2012 and used it several times and it still looks great.

I simply thread the background roll onto the crossbar support and use the clamps when the background is pulled out to the desired length.
