    Northern Lights

I've tried to track the Northern Lights and get a reasonable picture before, but it has yet to work out. I may give it another shot tonight as they are saying this was "X-Class." Which just sounds good.

I really hope the clouds clear since Nebraska is actually in the good range. I never thought I would get a chance to photograph them without a trip north.

I have low expectations, but am probably going to try something tonight. A trip or two north are definitely on my photography bucket list.

Cloudy and raining here tonight, but will give it a try tomorrow night when it clears up (and gets into the lows within a couple of degrees of freezing).

Thanks for the info. I may have missed this otherwise.

If you do make a visit, be sure to let me know and I can offer a lot of advice on shooting around Yellowknife in both fall and spring. I wish I were there now... they have clear skies in the forecast tonight and we're completely socked in now.

    Will do.

As a quick FYI, there was red and green color on the horizon here in NH. I'll check the pics tomorrow.

From last night in southern New Hampshire. This is actually taken with Great Bay in the foreground. May have been better had I headed further north...

    Brant:

That is great. Much better than what I got (nothing).

Very clean. What was the shot particulars (lens, focal length, shutter, aperture, iso)?

Thanks Pat. I've edited the post to include my settings. I'll see if the clouds let up so I can try again tonight. What was over you yesterday is over us tonight.
