    colorchecker hire

    Hi there,

I'd really like to create a custom profile for my camera in LR, but I'm not sure I want to spend £70 for a colorchecker passport which I am probably going to use only once or twice.

Is there a chance to hire a colourchecker for a day at a decent price? I can't find anything online!
    Thanks

    Not that I'm aware of...

Color calibration tools/software usually have a limit on the amount of computers they can be used with, so it's not something that you could rent out to temporary customers.

And that makes sense, because once your monitor is calibrated, it pretty much stays calibrated while the software is installed (with small variation over time, I think).

The colourchecker is for calibrating your camera. I thought it would make sense for a camera shop to invest in a colourchecker and hire it 10 times at £20. If the checker is not damaged/touched, X-Rite says it's ok for two years.

Same with a colour meter. I have mine, but it would make sense to be able to hire one for a day to calibrate your monitors.

Well, nevermind. Thanks for your input, I'll think about that!
