New 50D

Finally I got my first DSLR - Canon EOS 50D + 17-85 lens.


Thanks anyone for helping me make the decision and thank you Bryan for the fast response (via email). I was pretty much sure I'd be getting the Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 but before doing that I emailed Bryan something like this:


" I would like to hear what do you think - which one would you pick?" (Tamron 17-50 vs. Canon 17-85)


(this is actually my reply to his reply to my original mail = this is
not the original mail I sent him but a part of our conversation)


And got a reply pretty much like this:


"Really, I’d have to flip a coin – in my mind at least.
The Canon 17-85 is what I’d pick at the moment. I know that is not much
help."





So I got the 17-85 as Bryan suggested and since I thought it would be better (AF-wise) as well.


I'll post some pictures which I took this morning later on...

Cool. FWIW (not much, granted) I would have chosen the 17-85 as well. I have a feeling you're going to be happy []
