    Backlit bird

    Here is a backlit bird, just an opportunity when I was out looking for other shots. With my recent eagle/ vulture debacle, I won't even venture a bird ID

    Danny -- Yes that's a cedar waxwing for sure. Great shot --- the leaves provide a nice frame. Bohemian waxwings live way up north, so the only time you may see them are in the late fall or winter when they move a little south. If you see a waxwing in the spring or summer then it almost has to be a cedar.

    backlit wing (and tail) blur



    Still one of my favorite backlit pix; taken late afternoon 7/18/10 w/7D 100-400 @ 400, f5.6, ISO 1250, 1/160th.

    Erno....love the wolf pic and Jonathan....love your captured moment of the mother and child in lockstep.
