    It's been a busy week.
I have wanted to try something since seeing Sean's post about a 17 stop ND filter. I stacked my 10 stop and 6 stop together for this photo taken at 3:30 pm. Taken at f/11, ISO 400, 215 seconds. There was a thunderstorm moving in giving the clouds some great movement.

    "200 Seconds"

Very competitive group of shots this week. I would be happy to have taken anyone of these shots this week. I really had a tough time, and really could not decide. So I decided to chose with a very simple criteria: "if I was in a gallery and had to chose one of these to hang on my wall, and could only buy one... which would it be?"

I pick Jayson's "200 Seconds". Simple subject, yet complicated and unique technique/results; but in the end it is a picture that I could see hanging in my house, office, gallery, etc.

    Congratulations Jayson.

That was a great shot you had. What lens and aperture did you use? I usually can't get star bursts as nice as that. I was curious about what the number leaf's used in the iris was.

    Continued...
Ahh... I looked it up. Your 24-70 II apture was not that small, but the number of blades (I called leaf's) on the lens is 9.

My best landscape lens (24mm II) only has 8 blades on the apture. Odd number of blades will give you twice as many spikes on the star burst, but even number of blades will produce the same number of spikes in the star burst as the number of blades. Your lens will produse 18 spikes and mine will only do 8. I much prefer yours.
