I normally am not a huge fan of BW flowers, but this one looks pretty cool

Thanks Joel. It was really an opportunistic shot.... not what I was looking for, but I took advantage of what presented itself. It goes to show, you need to be out there and ready to take advantage of what presents itself.
I lost about a quart of blood to the mosquitoes on this one.

Really good images again this week!
I certainly enjoyed two that were unconventional, but very evocative: “Sorrow” and “Drew Tennis.”
Then there are three that are very conventional in theme and composition, but all three beautifully realized: “Beanie Girl,” “Black Swallowtail Caterpillar,” and “Snowy Egret Preening.”
My final pick is “Beanie Girl.” I am sure the family will treasure that portrait.
Congratulations, Jerry!

Congrates Gerard. I thought yours would be the winning shot as soon as I saw it. Really nicely done.
