    Orchard Lake

No chance to travel to great landscape destinations, but here is one close to home.

I actually had this assignment in mind when we went on holiday to Austria two weeks ago, so in the spirit of better late than never....

I sent my girlfriend to the hill on the other side to take a landscape with a person in it. Some walkie-talkies would have been handy Try to spot her

I really liked this assignment, also because I had it in mind when we went on holiday. To be fair, I didn't take the photo myself and I was hoping my friend hadn't chopped off our feet, but it holds lots of good memories. We walked for about 5 hours before we were at this specific place and a few more hours were still to come. We made a 15k walk with the highest point being 2700m(9000ft) and I was on my running shoes, because I didn't think I needed to put on my heavy boots on the gravel paths. Boy, was I wrong. This photo was taken just a few yards under the highest point which had a steep incline. My calfs felt like the gravel path we walked upon all the time and with the decent my feet were sliding in my shoes constantly when walking down with big blisters as a result. Nevertheless we reached a spot where we had such a great view that it was all forgotten very fast and I could even smile when we took the photo
So lots of good memories there. I could recommend everone here a trip to Austria. It was amazing.

By the way, one of my friends has written a book and as friends we all take the book with us on holidays to take photos with at the most random places. Therefor I'm having quite a few silly photos of me "reading" this book at random spots with the mocest views. Sometimes I like those photos better than the landscape shot I took afterwards. Anyhow, being in the photo yourself is good for memories sake. Thanks for the assignment. I loved it
