    "Purple Rocks"

This past week I have been learning and experimenting with focus stacking. I found out that if there is significant distance between objects in your image and the distance between images is small then the stack will contain several out of focus images. Usually this would not be good. This image began as a stack of images of a small bunch of purple flowers from a spider plant. Due to the presence of several out of focus images in the stack the final image looked like purple rocks in a mist or fog.....kinda cool accident. I added some textures and this is the final result. Weird isn't it?

This "portrait" of my wife is from a recent trip to the southmost parts of Sweden. (I titled it after the Swedish name of the place - it could be a challenge to pronounce for most of you ;-)

These competitions are never easy to judge and this one is obviously not going to be any different! You guys are off to a great start at making this very difficult for me! Keep them coming!
