    2016 Image of the Week #34

    Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly and finally in an annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."


    • There will be only one weekly winner.
    • This entry period for Week 34 will be from Monday August 15th through/including Sunday August 21st.
    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
    • Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
    • Enter as many times as you would like.



    This week will be judged by DavidEccleston

    Whistling Pika

    Pikas are small rodents with oversized ears, that inhabit rocky terrain in the alpine zone. They scurry very quickly in between the rocks, and are incredibly difficult to photograph. On a recent hike I put a 70-200 f/2.8 lens with a 1.4 TC in my backpack, determined to get a shot of one of these cute fellas. Lucky for me this guy stood still outside his den for a moment, and even proceeded to let out a sharp whistle at the same moment that I was firing a burst.

    had to run back to the house (ok jog in an unstately manner) missed the most saturated parts of the sunrise (even though is is +2 in Sat it was more a few minutes earlier was one of the most truly dramatic sunrises I have ever seen).
