    • This entry period for Week 9 will be from Monday February 20th through/including Sunday February 26th.
    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
    • Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
    • Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by conropl.

    "Short Tailed BlueJay"

Anyone who knows hows this happens please let me know .... first time I have seen this.

The size and plumage indicates this is an adult but the tail is obviously not normal.....is this from injury? a narrow escape? an abnormal molt?

    I don't know.

I have no idea why the tail feathers seem to have fallèn out but i had a jay in my yard last summer that was completely bald right down to the neck line.
    LOVE that backgound !
