    2018 - Image of the Week #2

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly and finally in an annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

    • There will be only one weekly winner.
    • This entry period for Week 2 will be from Monday January 8th through/including Sunday January 14th.
    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro and any other appropriate photographic style.
    • Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
    • Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by Sean Setters.

    Good luck!!

We have an unlikely visitor down the road from my house. She is hanging dangerously close to the interstate, but is a healthy young lady. This is one of the few birds that are on my bucket list to shoot and was so grateful I had friends to help with the driving so we could get this shot and not disturb her at all.

I've been very behind on processing my pictures lately. But I recently upgraded my desktop, so one more excuse is gone...hopefully that means I'll start processing and posting more shots in the near future.

Here's one of a butterfly last summer:

Kayaker72 wasn't able to get someone to judge this week, so he asked if I'd step up to the plate. All the entries were quite good this week, but I'm going to have to go with Jayson's "Snowy."

I'll echo that! I've been lucky to see and photograph quite a few snowy owls up here, but getting a shot like this where you can see the yellow eyes is a rare treat! Usually the angle of the sun is wrong and the eyes end up looking black. Congrats on a fine image and for the big checkmark on the bucket list! And thank you for showing great sensitivity to the owl -- many photographers and birdwatchers aren't as ethical.
