2018 - Image of the Week #37

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images to compete for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly, and, finally, in our annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

• The Week 37 entry period will be from Monday, September 10th through/including Sunday, September 16th.
• Please supply a title for your image.
• This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro, and any other appropriate photographic style.
• Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
• Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by Minerve101.

Clouds ruined my northerlights photo session but the whole evening and night was filled with sheet lightning. There was a some point finally a little opening on the clouds to let me have some green to sky from the northern lights and then the sheet lightning happened.

First time ever have these two things in one picture =)

Finally i managed to get decent lightning image. Lightning storms have been dodging the area i live for some years now. Now 2 nights a row =)

All interesting shots. Brant and Wesley certainly caught the animal at the key moment. Jerry's hummingbird is lovely. I feel "spoiled" by the plentiful great hummingbird shots in the weekly contests and in the best bird pictures thread.

However only one can be the winner--Kari's Lightning. The cloud formations and the course of the lightning worked together to make a strong composition.
