    2019 - Image of the Week #9

Welcome to TDP forum's "Image of the Week" competition. Each week photographers may submit their images for the title of "Image of the Week." Weekly winners will then compete on a monthly, quarterly, and, finally, in our annual poll for the title of "TDP Image of the Year."

    • The Week 9 entry period will be from Monday February 25th through/including Sunday, March 3rd.
    • Please supply a title for your image.
    • This is an open competition for landscape, portrait, architectural, macro, or any other appropriate photographic style.
    • Images should have been either recently taken or processed.
    • Enter as many times as you would like.

This week will be judged by TBD.

    Good luck!

Hi everyone....I did not hear back from the member I had PM'd, so I am jumping in to judge. I was up in a couple weeks anyway.

As always, there is something I really like about each image. But, I am going to give this weeks honor to Sean for "The Surfer." Technically excellent, even down to the birds (photoshopped or lucky?) in the negative space. This is an image that I can see framed and on the client's and client's family's wall.

Honorable mention to Claes. Getting a shot like that is one my list. I would have liked to see the framing a bit more intimate given the emotional theme, but great shot.

    Thanks Brant!

The birds were technically in the frame at the time of capture, but they weren't in that exact position. I used Photoshop CC's Content Aware Move to put them in a more ideal place. And, as you imagined, a 13x19' print will be (or already is) hanging in the subject's home.

Here's a behind the scenes look at the shoot:
