As much as I like "Just Peachy", this came down to "Great Grey Owl in Flight," which is a shot I would love to have make, and "Shy Snowy" for me. When I judge, I go through a variety of scenarios, one of which being could I see a shot being used somewhere (magazine, etc), which, in my mind, also tends to skew towards having a standout quality. To me, the beautiful use of contrast separates "Shy Snowy" is that standout quality. I could see it being used in a publication....so among several very good images...this week's winner is "Shy Snowy"

Wow thanks! I also love that "Just Peachy" blossom shot. We're still at least a month away from seeing that sort of thing up here in the frozen north .

I used the R5 for all those shots, and I do have to say it's pretty freaking awesome with birds. Plus I could easily tell what exposure compensation that I needed for the snowy owl, which is quite an advantage.

Very nice images, each of them. What caught my eye, not photographically.... the body length of the great grey compared to its wing span. Qith blint face it has a striking impact.

Thanks to all for sharing your images.
