Looks like a fantastic spot and you've got some great shots there too!
If you're looking for a great hiking camera backpack have a look at f-stop. I use their Guru and it's spot on.

Great shots.
The EF-S 55-250 is IMHO one of the best values for lenses, definitely the most reach for the $. For a crop camera I would always choose it over the the extra $$ for the 70-300 non-L

Sorry I missed this thread, great shots, really like 1,2,4 and 5.
Looks great! I am going to Zion for a weekend in Oct. That will be my first trip like this since getting my 60D. I also have the 17-55 along with the 70-200 f/4 IS. I will have to look through how you took your shots for some ideas.

I kinda tweaked as I went along, but I pretty much just kept it in Av mode set at f/11. Since we were with a group, I didn't always have time to stop and mess with fine tuning settings to get my shot. I also used a polarizing filter to help get those deep blue skies. Actually some of them came out darker than I wanted and I ended up having to lighten them in Lightroom. I found also that setting the exposure at -2/3 or -1 helped to prevent getting washed out highlights on the sky and clouds.
+1 on the Guru. I have this and liked how it carried better than the Fastpack. Better fit for the camera and 2 lenses yet a smaller profile. I have used it for a few site-seeing trips. I attached the Think Tank Camera Support Straps to the pack and use their camera straps. I can then clip the camera to the harness and it is in easy reach when I have the camera out of the pack.
