My first macro attempt....just acquired a used 180mm f/3.5L Macro.
This is a withered Iris bloom, hand held in mnaul mode with 1D MKIV, ISO 1000, f/6.3, 1/100

WOW, Joel!! Looks like you are going to blow us away in this thread too with your fantastic shots!! Congrats on the new glass and you sure know how to use it well! On my screen, it looks like I can just reach out and touch this flower!
Joel- Beautiful composition......as always!
Thanks, I am enjoying the new perspective, the opposite of super-telephoto that I have become accustomed to.
I took this one with the 180mm macro + 1.4 TC using a tripod and cable release.

I totally agree with Denise, Joel is going to conquer this thread! haha.
Love the colours! The focus is really sharp, and the bokeh is just fantastic!
Here's a shot from this rainy evening.

Franco and Joel, very nice shots.
Joel, How are you liking the 180. My boss was a medical photographer and swears by this lens---
I have only had it for 2 days so very limited experience so far but it seems very nice, it is sharp and the working distance is very comfortable.
It's not easy to get sharp images hand held due to narrow DOF, probably true with all macro lenses though, more experience might help:)
I like that you can use teleconverters with it as well as extension tubes. You cannot use a teleconverter with the 100mm macro unless you put an extension tube on it first. Also like the included tripod collar.
Have no negatives so far.
