We heard the comments on the original hot shoe and made improvements to the locking mechanism on the Trio, Trio Basic, and Pilot. The new version is much better than the original.

Ken, Thank you for the response. It is good to know that Quantum monitors discussion boards. So, another question: Does the Qlink need a FreeXwire receiver, or does it have one built in?

Mark... The Trio works with any Turbo Battery.


Larry... The Qlink does need a FreeXwire receiver. Specifically the FW8R, not the FW10W

I have a couple of old SunPak 120J's. I operate them on AA's and they are fine. I like the barbulb but would like to add ETTL.



The Quantum Turbo packes are not in the budget but AA's are. Has Quantum designed this flash to restrict me to these expensive options only?
