thanks for all the great suggestions. i think i'm going to end up getting it here...its between aden, merkle or this dinky camera store thats offering 3300+free gift versus everywhere else that is charging 1999+1150+stupid 13% tax. i dont want to give that dinky store my money though because he was really rude to me.


regardless, i'm planning to get it if not this weekend then beginning of next. i literally can't concentrate on anything with this in the back of my mind. you're right, i probably will think the extra few hundred is well worth having the 7d in my hands...lol


as for the ghosting problem, i believe only firmware update is necessary.

As for the 1D Mark III autofocus problem, Canon only thought firmware updates were necessary. At first. Then came white dots and blue dots.

Also consider that it's not only the ghost living inside the 7D, but thereis also the fact that several 7D cameras can't control wireless slave flashes properly. Not as well known as the ghost problem, but much more detrimental to the images.
