Re: Anyone using Transcend CF cards?
Hi Tony,
I have two Transcend 16GB 400X cards I rotate with a SanDisk 16GB 600X ( i think, it is rated 90MB/s) ExtremePro in my 5D II, and I have not had any issues with them. I bought them on price and so far, so good. I was going to buy a couple of Transcend 32GB, but I have not thus far because I have seen too many bad card/just died reviews. Until I added those two this spring I only had SanDisk (various Extreme versions) and Lexar Professional 300X and faster. I have never had any CF card issues, again so far.
The price is appealing, but I think I am going to avoid Transcend until reviews get better. For what is worth, I believe that SanDisk holds the patent on CF format and I also think they make all the internal components themselves as well as assemble the final CF card. I know that Transcend uses internal components from various suppliers. That could be why some of their cards are better than others, they may have been built with better parts installed.
I hope this helps,
Chris
