Wow! Beautiful shot Steve. I really like the blue. Evert time I try to get the night blues to show up it ends up looking unnatural. Yours turned out great.

Only problem is the little something you caught in the bottom left corner of the frame. It is a little bit like looking at a beautiful model with a little food in the corner of her mouth. Well... maybe not that bad.

Lol, good call Pat, I like the analogy, I'll get rid of that bit of rock stuck in the corner of her mouth, on the original, but I'll leave it here, to keep the context.
    Thanks,

I am a bit envious. I used to be able to find them around our house during the winter pretty easily, but last year they seemed to quit coming around here. Last year I did not see any, and this year I have only seen one (but that was on the other side of the county). I wish they would come back to the area.

Thanks, Pat --- they sure are wonderful. Sometimes I'm not so lucky... there are times I've been out for hours and not seen anything at all. Do you know about the eBird range maps? Have a look: http://ebird.org/ebird/map/snoowl1?b...=2007&eyr=2011 You might find a snowy owl hot spot near you!

    Happy shooting -

Stunning shot, Steve! What an absolutely beautiful place!

Wind Point Lighthouse by Denise Trocio, on Flickr

This lighthouse was built in 1880 and is one of the oldest and tallest (108 ft.) active lighthouses on the Great Lakes. It is located on the north end of Racine in the Village of Wind Point, Wisconsin.

That is your history lesson for today boys and girls!

Thank you Jonathan. I checked out the link, and the only sightings around here are about 30 miles away (same place I had seen one last month). I will keep looking.

That is a nice web site though. I think I will check out a few other birds on it also (such as eagles).

Very Nice Denise. A friend of mine actually had a chance to photograph the tower from the inside a few years ago.
