That's correct they're the same price.

Both the RRS and Kirk L-brackets are custom made and costs the same $140 for the 5DII without grip, and $180 for the MKIV.

I would venture to guess that the RRS and Kirk brackets are of equal quality and workmanship, so either one would work great.
