Maybe just me, but first glance at Kayaker72's entry and I saw a demon silhouette with ice horns and a goatee - perhaps an additional layer of red.

Congrats to all the finalists. Some great photos.

Name: Kayaker72
Motivation: More than any of the other entered shots, this one played on two potential aspects of the theme "Seeing Red" (Denise and Neuro both played on two themes as well but they didn't enter those shots). The obvious one is the red in the berries. The maybe not obvious one is my assumed thoughts that the owner was "seeing red" or was angry at losing the crop.

Ha. You are right to read between the lines. It was a stressful time. I woke up before sunrise to check everything out and saw a tree hanging over one of our cars. I had to bust through the ice to open the car door to move it. The tree came down about an hour later. 300,000+ people without power in New Hampshire. Something like 1.3 million without power between Pennsylvania and Maine. People stealing generators, a couple of deaths from carbon monoxide poisoning. As for our household and the other "seeing red," let's just say not everyone thought the need to photography the ice storm was a top priority, especially with the temperature in our house dropping, eventually, to the mid-40's F (before the generator was up and going). We laugh about it now. There are several quotes that we still bring up.

Congrats to the finalists! I had a tough time deciding on which to vote for, they are all great!

@ Kayaker - Looks like you are about to get another chance at some of those ice shots! To you and everyone on the east coast, stay safe my friends!!
