How much is one photo worth for a news article?

My guess is they already have their story mapped out. So how you present yourself and story may never come across the way you intend. They will cut and edit your words to present the story in the way that they want it to come across. That may sound awful negative, but they do not go into these things without having the story line defined and laid out ahead of time (they need to sell the story to their bosses ahead of time to get resources).

Be careful you do not get run over by people with an agenda.

Good on you Denise. To be honest I was expecting something a lot more positive and a better opportunity(therefor investment) in your future. However when I just only read the brief intro and saw the words "there's only so much rejection a person can take", "beyond fed up", "hopeless"....I was feeling the exact same thing for the guy who's story I didn't even read yet. With the added photo, my judgement of the guy was done before I even read the story and it mirrored the words written in the intro. And when I started to read his text it went only downhill. Definitely not how you want to market yourself.
I get the feeling this is just a way of showing a struggling type of unemployed people(without any benefits other than "amusement") instead of giving attention to them in a positive way to show that they still got the will to fight for it despite their "age" and situation.
