While getting it all setup with the tripod plate is cool and all, it's not necessary to enjoy this strap at all. It takes me four seconds to attach or remove it, and the same for my manfrotto quick release plate.

I just picked one up myself as carrying my 5d3 and 70-200 f/4 around my neck with the Canon strap was just becoming uncomfortable. This thing distributes the weight evenly, and the camera doesn't bounce around on your hip when you're walking. I am going to return the RS-4 for the Sport model as I can easily see the underarm support being invaluable in keeping the shoulder pad in place.

Don't return your RS-4 - just buy the BlackRapid Brad Camera Strap Underarm Stabilizer for $15.95.

Also, you can use the BlackRapid FastenR-T1 with a Manfrotto QR plate that's attached to the camera - that makes the tripod setup even easier because all you have to do is disconnect the clip from the FastenR-T1.
