Christmas plans were delayed a day due to a freezing rain and snow on Christmas day. But the next morning it looked like this....

First week goes to "First Light". Congrats Johnathan.

Nice shot Brant, but the Jonathan's larger splash of color, reflection, and more varied and interesting framing puts him over the top.

Nice doggo Jayson. Good job not blowing the whites while having details in the blacks, that becomes a struggle at times. I'm left wondering if a bit more DOF to keep the ear in focus would help the dog pop from the background a bit more... or if it would resolve the background too much and they'd blend together.

Hey thanks! At winter solstice the sun lines up nicely with this creek, so I was hoping to get a half-decent sunrise shot. But it took a while for the conditions to come together, because we were either socked in with clouds, or had clear skies (and -30 C deep freeze). In spite of the cold, the creek never freezes over because of the groundwater source. We had a bit of wind that morning so I lengthened the shutter speed as much as possible to smooth the water a bit. This location is right off Main Street in Canmore, believe it or not. So I'm admitting full unfair advantage here

I think mine may be a solid entry in the category of "You did not even put your shoes on" Ok, technically I keep slippers at the front door to take our dog out and used those...but, not shoes. No laces were involved.
