    Thanks Brant.

Caught this moonrise over the lake. I desided to expose for the fall colors and the reflection, and let the moon blowout as a star burst.

Thanks Joel, As far as the recon mission, it's about what you would expect for this time of year, no real surprises. A few cranes, a few snow geese and a few ducks, nothing in any great numbers yet. I also saw some deer that were not interested in me at all. I approached within 50 ft and they just laid there in the shade. One thing I did see in surprising numbers were the Northern Harriers---I bet I saw at least 10 different birds, or the same bird in 10 different locations.

Here is a shot of one of the resting deer. It was midday so the deer were in the shade and not planning on moving. Unfortunately, no bucks.

    Nice deer image.

Good to hear there are raptors about! Those Harriers make it tough to get a good image, their flight pattern seems so erratic.

Are they opening up that new area this time?

Another couple from the Upper Peninsula. The first one shows a river just upstream of the best waterfalls in Michigan. It drops off at the end of this view, and becomes the waterfall shown in the second one (which actually shows ony half of it).

    7D, 24-105L, @ (30 sec, f/8, & ISO=200) on the first and (10 sec, f/13, & ISO=100) for the second one.
