Westcott 7' Parabolic Umbrella (White / Black)

    Guys
I am planning to get Westcott 7' Parabolic Umbrella (White / Black) . I have two canon 580 EX II and two 430EX II flashes, do you think the umbrella is too big for these kind of flashes?

Where do you intend on using it?

I would lean towards a bigger source of light than the EXII. More because of the weight of the batteries you'll be using and hanging on the stands to keep them still. Seven foot becomes a great sail pretty quickly outside.
Words get in the way of what I meant to say.

I want to use these umbrellas for portrait photography. If they are too big, can you suggest better ones?

You misunderstood my question. Do you wasn't to use it indoors or outdoors?

The umbrella is not necessarily too big for the flashes you mentioned if used indoors. However, you might want to try this flash bracket with the setup:

The problem is that the light coming from a single flash may get diffused a little too much. I've always tried to have a multiple-flash bracket on hand for those times I needed some extra punch in my mainlight. With such a large surface area to light, a multiple flash bracket seems ideal.

Regardless, make sure you have a heavy duty lightstand and even a sandbag or two on hand when using a 7ft umbrella.
