I have been wanting the TS-E 24mm also, but the cost is a bit steap. So hopefully this has good IQ and a good price. So far all I have seen is that the official product presentation will be on September 18 at Photokina. I do not think they have anounced when it will be ready yet (I have been lookling).

If the IQ and build is anywhere near as good as their 35mm, it will be sweet. Provided, of course, there's a good price break over the Canon. It doesn't appear to be AF, so that should ensure a much lower price.

Note: It says in the specs "Auto focus type: brak". Not sure what that means. I don't see chip in the lens, though.

None of Canons TS-E lenses have AF, but I do hope with you on the price

Very interesting this. Hope to hear more if they announce it in Photokina

Ah, didn't know that. Those lenses are made of unobtainium, so I've never actually seen one in real life. It wouldn't make much sense for Samyang to go through all the work of producing such a lens if it wasn't going to have at least one substantial advantage over the Canon. Since IQ won't be that advantage (the Canon has killer IQ judging from the images I've seen), it's going to have to be price.

I believe brak is manual focus only (similar to the SAMYANG 14 MM F/2.8 IF ED UMC ASPHERICAL spec)
Words get in the way of what I meant to say.

I believe the Samyang lenses are also manual aperture. None of this, the camera sets the lens wide open to meter and focus, then quickly adjusts it to your selected size in order to take a shot nonsense. That should shave off a few dollars right there.

It's like that for the four Rokinons I own (or have owned).

Now that the Na'vi have kicked us off the planet, you should go ahead and get a TS-E. The prices are sure to go on the rise.
