It will be my pleasure to judge this weeks selections. I'm sure it's going to be difficult. Looking forward to everyone's entries!

Steve, you're cute, but the Coffee Girl is a tad cuter. You know my thoughts on your self portrait already; one of your best!

Jon, you nailed the Perseids! Great work. Does Canmore stand for "CANnon can do MORE?"

Thanks! You could be right, but I'm also curious if living here makes me a Canmoron..?

Again... well done, and well worth the couple of hours.
Thanks Pat, and yes that lens review does look very good! You're probably right that the 18-35 would be better for the crop body. The 24 mm prime is just barely wide enough for sky shots on a full-frame body, but I'm definitely happy with it.

Steve, that self-portrait is superb and should be entered in many contests! A sure winner IMO!

Thank you Denise and Brian, but you guys probably just don't worry enough.
The treatment and processing on that rose is just superb Denise.

I agree, it looks great and very natural. What did you do and with what? I'm willing to give it a try one of these days.

Thank you! This is a photo of a rose from my garden. I used the "quick selection tool" in CS6 to remove the rest of the rose bush and used a painterly texture by French Kiss set at normal blending mode for the background. I believe I also added another layer of the texture over the entire image at very low opacity with a soft light blending mode.
