I had actually been thinking about it for some time. If had been available months ago I would have already bought it.

Initially I didn't like the idea that it is essentially the EF version with the adapter built in.

However, thinking it will probably be many years before this lens sees an upgrade.

I will have to decide what to do with my EF 500mm. I regretted selling my original 500mm as it was a great lens. I could have passed it down to family.
